Creating your Sacred Space | Ceremonial Tools and Methods to use Anytime, Anywhere!

Follow along to the video here!

I live a fairly nomadic lifestyle. I'm based out of Brooklyn, but I travel a lot. As a healer and a nomad, it's super important to me to be able to create a sacred space anytime, anywhere....whether I'm camping, staying at a hotel, working in my studio, or setting up a space at home. I'm all over the place and because of that, I needed to find ways to create that sense of sacred and meditative space.

No matter where you are, this can be great for you too. You can set up your sacred space anywhere you like, with the right tools!

Here are my favorite tools and methods for making your sacred space process as easy and repeatable as possible!

Chakra Crystals

The first thing that you should always have on hand are your crystals. These are great for creating an atmosphere within yourself and the space around you. You can bring your crystals in a small bag for easy transport. I highly recommend bringing one crystal for each chakra.

Two additional crystals I recommend adding to your Sacred Space Set is a Clear Quartz point and a Smoky Quartz point crystal. These crystals are fantastic for boosting positive energy, amplifying other crystals, gaining mental and emotional clarity. Both are fantastic for meditation, and Smoky Quartz is especially helpful during a releasing meditation, as it helps to draw off negative energy.

You can use all of these chakra crystals to lay on top of each chakra on your body. This will give you a super powerful chakra healing ceremony in just 30 minutes while letting the crystals do their work. Now that you've got a crystal for every chakra, you can help support that chakra, anywhere you are!

Essential Oils

Next thing to add are your essential oils. My top favorites to bring on the road are Palo Santo oil or Sage oil. Both of these can help you clear your energy, even in a new space. You never know what energies may be stuck in the space before you enter. To protect your own energy, all youneed to do is to take a drop of one or both of these oils, rub it on your hands, breathe that in and put it on pulse points. When you're breathing it in, you're providing support to your emotion center directly through the limbic system.

So having these two cleansing oils can help you set that positive energy within yourself and the space around you very easily.

Cleanse the Entire Space

You don't know who's been in the space that you’re in before your arrival, so it’s best to cleanse the energy of the entire space, as well as creating that protective barrier around yourself. You can use a Palo Santo stick or a Sage bundle which you can easily carry with you during your travels, and you can perform a cleansing ceremony throughout the space. Even by using one small Sage leaf, this is enough to cleanse your entire space!

With Palo Santo you get that gorgeous “yoga studio” smell, plus all of those wonderful cleansing properties. Palo santo sticks are trickier to burn indoors, though. You’ll need a fire safe vessel to lay the Palo Santo in, and you’ll want to check to make sure it burns out completely, to avoid any fire hazards. For this reason, I prefer to use Sage indoors and Palo Santo when I’m camping. Once the Palo Santo is done burning, you can easily toss it into the campfire. Whichever you choose, as the cleansing smoke enters the air, you’ll notice a lightness and freshness, and you’ll likely feel a shift in the energy of the room. You'll also feel a shift in the energy of yourself.

Preparing For Your Sacred Ceremony

Now that you've got the tools, and your space has been cleansed and prepped, it’s time to prepare for the actual sacred ceremony!

Here’s what you will need to prepare for your sacred ceremony:

  • Find a comfy space. It can be either a comfortable couch, a chair, or even a yoga mat to lay down on, and all you have to do is sit back and meditate. No matter where you are, you can find a way to get into a quiet mental space and a comfortable physical space.

  • Set aside time. You want to make sure that the time that you're using for your sacred ceremony is just for you. This is your quiet time. Make sure there's no distractions so that you can get into that space, get deep as possible, and to get as much out of it as possible. This will help you reenter your day in a more calm, focused, and purposeful way. You want to make sure that anyone who's with you knows you're taking some time to yourself. Don’t forget to turn off your phone notifications and any other distractions!

  • Create a quiet space. This is your quiet time to feel a sense of calmness and to enveloped a sacred space and time. You can enjoy some moments of silence, or you can find music that works really well for you. My favorite digital tool for enhancing my meditation practice is Insight Timer. [Learn more about this popular and free meditation app here]. Another great option is my favorite sound healing audio book, which helps you to vocalize and tune all of your chakras. If you want to disconnect from the internet, or are out in nature without access, you can use your Insight Timer Membership or save a music playlist on your phone. For online access, you can set up a YouTube playlist, or use Insight Timer for free. Pick your favorite thing that gets you into that calm space!

Now that you have a comfortable, quiet spot ready for your sacred ceremony, and time on your hands-It’s time to start your process!

There are so many healing ceremonies, guided meditations, and releasing ceremony tutorials out there and it can be overwhelming! Don’t know where to start?

Here’s a list of all of the healing ceremonies guides for you to start with:

That is all you need! Even with a little amount of space, you can easily carry all of the things needed for creating your sacred space wherever you are.
