Nomad Life Q&A with Basecamp Brooklyn

People ask us all the time what made us decide to leave our cozy apartment, get rid of most of our stuff, and hit the road full time. What is it that draws us to this Nomad Life?

For me it’s about freedom, travel, getting back to nature and older ways of doing things. For Allan it’s more about adventure, testing survival skills, and well…. I’ll let him tell you himself :)

Enjoy this Q&A session we did for his YouTube channel. It’s a deeper, behind-the-scenes dive than we’ve ever done before. Hope you enjoy!

Are you feeling the call to Nomad Life? I’d love to hear what that words means to you. Leave me a comment to share your Nomad Life goals.

What I’ve learned is, there are a LOT of definitions for this one term. Plus you’ve got #vanlife #travellife #bringbackwildhood #tinyhouse #homesteading #overlanding and so many more.

I was so curious as to why others pursued this lifestyle that I did a quick Internet poll. Here’s what I found:

10 Reasons for Nomad Life

  1. Freedom

  2. Adventure

  3. See the world

  4. Experience different cultures

  5. Get into nature

  6. Be able to follow the good weather

  7. Get away from the 9-5 grind

  8. Get away from stress and find relaxation

  9. Live without a daily routine

  10. Do the activities you love (skiing, hiking, biking, climbing, etc)

We enjoy a lot of these in our Nomad Life, but not all of them. It’s super important to realize that there isn’t ONE way to do this ONE thing. There are lots of ways to accomplish whatever it is that YOU want to do!

If you'd like to join us for one of our Culinary Camping Experiences, check out the details on Allan’s site.
