What is Reiki? An introduction by Reiki Master Tracy Kelly

Firstly let me introduce myself, my name is Tracy and I am a Reiki Master/Teacher in Grimsby United Kingdom and Reiki has been a journey of self-discovery for me for over 10 years.

Reiki energy passes from the crown chakra and flows down the shoulders and out through the palm/hand chakras.

Reiki means Universal Life Force Energy and it involves the healer laying their hands on specific positions on a clothed client and channelling the life force energy.

What do I mean by Channelling, you ask?

Well the Reiki healer is merely a conduit that facilitates the transmission of this healing energy to the person requiring healing. The energy passes from the crown chakra and flows down the shoulders and out through the palm/hand chakras. The healer works in the auric field (that is above their body) as well as on the body. The Usui System of Natural Healing is basically a “hands on healing” system.

Reiki works on several body's which are the emotional, mental, spiritual and physical. It releases blocked energy, clears the energy pathways and aligns the chakras to create a healthy flow of life force energy. In turn Reiki promotes relaxation, relieves depression and reduces stress/anxiety.

Reiki is very simple and goes to where it is most needed and not where you want it to go. Reiki goes to the source and root of a problem where it rebalances energy and removes problems that may have manifested in the physical but on a emotional/mental/ and spiritual level. It is however important to note, that by healing with Reiki, you invest and take responsibility for your own natural healing such as eating healthily or meditating regularly. With any healing therapy, issues will be brought to the surface and it is important that they are released. It is not good to hold on to negative energy and reiki replaces that with positive energy.

Reiki was rediscovered in Japan in the early 20th Century by Mikao Usui who at the end of a 21 day fast and meditation on Mt. Karuna, channelled and received the methods of the system that is the basis of energy healing today. The system has evolved through Western standards and both the Eastern and Western methods are still taught today.

Anybody can learn and practice Reiki. In fact the universal energy is a part of of our life force, it just needs to be activated by a series of attunements by a Reiki Master/Teacher. These enable you to not only heal yourself but others too.

Energy Flow is all around us. Studying with a Reiki Master like Tracy can  help you to activate and direct that Flow.

Reiki is not a religion but it is a spiritual practice and can be used by any faith. For me Reiki has helped me grow on a spiritual level and has been life changing. Not a day goes by where I am not using reiki. I use it to help me relax, and to help ease pain. I can Reiki “on the go” and its literally at my fingertips. The past 10 years with reiki in my life have helped me evolve spiritually, mentally and emotionally. Reiki is a gift that can be accessed always.

When you first learn reiki you gain an inner knowing of what reiki can do for you. Reiki is positive, it is gentle and loving and it enhances your spiritual connection. Many people discover reiki for different reasons. There is never a right or wrong reason. Some want to learn reiki to ease pain, to help them relax or for personal growth. Reiki can never be undone. In fact the more you use reiki the stronger it flows. You just intend for it to flow and it will.

Today, I am still discovering what Reiki can do for me and how blessed I am to have it in my life.

Namaste, Tracy
