Sound Healing the Chakras

Sound Healing is based on the principle that each chakra naturally resonates at a different vibrational frequency, which (as sound) translates as a distinct pitch. [Learn more about Sound Healing through toning the Chakras in this great audiobook]

Let's take a closer look at each chakra and the important areas of life they support:

  • Root: Safety, Security

  • Sacral: Passion, Creativity

  • Solar Plexus: Energy, Confidence

  • Heart: Love, Harmony

  • Throat: Communication, Balance

  • Third Eye: Intuition, Inspiration

  • Crown: Spiritual Connection, Clarity

So if you want to increase any of these feelings, or even more importantly, if you've been feeling the OPPOSITE of these, then you know which chakra to target. If a chakra has become closed or blocked for long enough, you will also begin seeing physical symptoms within the corresponding area of the body.

  • Root: Adrenals, Skeleton

  • Sacral: Kidneys, Reproductive Organs, Spleen

  • Solar Plexus: Pancreas, Liver, Stomach, Intestines, Autonomic Nerves

  • Heart: Lungs, Heart, Blood, Breasts, Thymus

  • Throat: Thyroid, Parathyroid, Mouth, Throat, Ears

  • Third Eye: Pituitary, Hypothalamus, Eyes, Sinus,

  • Crown: Pineal, Sympathetic Nerves

Now that you have an idea of what chakra(s) need clearing and balancing, let's take a look at how sound healing can help.

In a nutshell, each Chakra resonates with a pitch from the C Major scale.

ROOT=C | SACRAL=D | SOLAR PLEXUS=E | HEART=F | THROAT=G | THIRD EYE=A | CROWN=B

By toning (creating the sound of) a specific pitch, you will cleanse and balance the coordinating chakra. You can tone these pitches yourself through singing or humming, by striking a tuning fork, or by playing a sound bowl.

In this video you'll learn a simple sound healing practice that is perfect for immediate relief during moments of high stress and anxiety.

You can also use this vocal toning method when you're having trouble falling asleep at night, or need a quick nap in the middle of the day. The practice that I teach in this short lecture allows you to target your vibrational healing to a specific area of the body/ chakra that is experiencing the most discomfort. Try it and enjoy relaxation and relief within a few minutes.

Let me know in the comments:

• where do you tend to feel anxiety?

• can you feel the sound vibrating in that area of the body?

• do you get a real sense of calmness as you hum that pitch?
